OUR WHY

In March 2020 the World changed.

People who were already isolated became even more so. The most vulnerable in society had a new battle to fight. People of all ages found themselves battling mental and physical illness. Many lost their jobs. Many lost their lives.

The full extent of the destruction caused by the pandemic may never be fully known, but what is for certain is there was a reinvigorated sense of community. We witnessed some remarkable kindness from businesses providing free meals for families, to neighbours shopping for neighbours to children donating their pocket money to charities supporting families. Now more than ever, support needs to be accessible to all, to reach those that are digitally excluded and isolated and to be inclusive and non-judgemental.

It is incomprehensible to think that we accept excess winter deaths each year, many of which are due to poor housing and fuel poverty.

Choosing between heating and eating should not be a choice anyone has to make, ever.
